Trouble up mill… or Westmount anyway!

Having taken a commanding lead in the Morel league, the team this week travelled to JBC where only a week before the De Gruchy and Collings had battled on a bumpy surface.

Dave De Gruchy’s rink unfortunately got off to a slow start against a JBC rink skipped by stalwart Cyril Renouf. However, having got to grips with the rink battled back against the scoreboard to lose by 9 shots.

Tim Knights rink took on a back end pairing for Jamie and Roddy Macdonald and were putting on a fine show for themselves. Andy Gibbs jack casting was exemplary this week (we’ll soon find out if he reads these! 🤣). After sneaking in front, the rink found themselves in a spot of bother after a skilful shot from Jamie turned a Sun Bowl out to drop a 7 late on.

Terry Le Mottee’s rink put in an assured and steady display, always really in control of the scoreboard. Very steady skipping from Terry throughout the game and a solid team performance brought home the Suns only 2 points from the outing.

All to play for, and the club remain in a great league position. Congratulations to all players for their endeavours so far, there are many more challenges that await!
