After a long, enforced weather delay, work resumed on the green and its surrounds this morning …. in glorious sunshine! The green itself is looking good. Now it’s time to focus on putting the finishing touches to the ditches and the banks. This morning, the concrete ditch units were sealed ready for the protective carpet to be stuck in place. The banks were cleared and mostly levelled. The main path was cleared of the excessive accumulation of mud, which was used to finish the backfilling, especially under the hedge on the west bank. This week it is hoped to mark out the rinks and make a start on the protective carpet.
Well done to all for a great team effort this morning! Still more to do but, whatever this season holds in store, the green and the ditches will be ready!
